Why block the main avenue of SF to have the love parade on a dirty street and end it in front of the symbols of capitalism?
Next year can we go back to the beautiful embarcadero, and party in that big parking lot by the water?
Thanks!

Re: Wouldn't the love parade be better on the Embarcadero?
Mon, September 26, 2005 - 1:50 PMI thought so too. . .however it was quite fun to block the main streets of SF with a bunch of Uninhibitionists. . .showing the love and the character(s) and talent that exist in this city. . . and parade it right thru the center to its core. .
. . .granted I loved being near the water and there was alot of room last year and complained a bit at first. . .
. . .but being in front of the civic center made an amazing backdrop and the fact that we were in front of the Capitalist Center was fuckin epic and shows that you can't hold us back no matter how hard you might try. . .the amount of people that gather in the name of love and peace is an army of its own. . .(good for them to remember too). . and should be a norm really. . .
. . .who doesn't love partiing in the middle of the government streets and they can't do anything about it. . .
. . .having the Peace March end a couple of blocks away was brilliant too. . -

Re: Wouldn't the love parade be better on the Embarcadero?
Wed, September 28, 2005 - 11:59 PMi really preferred the wide avenue of the embarcadero, the open feel of it all - the crossing 3rd street bridge into a place where most sf'ns don't congregate. why do we have to make "a point" by having love parade be coralled into the civic box?
not to say people didn't enjoy themselves but i hope it returns to the embarcadero next year.
for one - no riot police - what was that for at the gate? and they completely missed the broken bottle fight i witnessed behind the port-o-potties..
for two - prettier
for three - different
for four - cuz
for five - sunshine on the bay side reminding us we live at a great port city on the edge of importing/exporting change, lurv, and much music goodness.
some say they liked sitting on the grass at civic center... so next year on the embarcadero, let there be space with grass under some fabric, or in a dome with a furry floor. and for love's sake, let it rule outside the frame of a civic spectacle!
